The policy, instituted a little more than a year ago, requires potential employees to have a body mass index of less than 35 —which is 210 pounds for someone who is 5-foot-5, and 245 pounds for someone who is 5-foot-10. What is most disturbing to me about this story is that there is clearly no room for a difference in opinion in the tobacco control movement about certain dogmatic elements of the field. You can't express disagreement without facing personal attack, no matter how well you support your argument with scientific evidence. Like a religion, you can't challenge the gospel-like nature of movement's mantra without being viewed as a heretic.

What does it mean to be "opposed" to the use of unregulated e-cigarettes? It means that the European Respiratory Society is opposed to the use of e-cigarettes in any setting in which they are unregulated, such as the current situation throughout most of the world, including in the United States.
