It is not that the tobacco companies are evading the law; it is that the law is so weak that it allowed these products to remain on the market, as long as they simply changed their names to terms that do not directly convey the same meaning.

Actually, I would go one step further. I don't see a need for pre-market review of new electronic cigarette products, as it is the older ones which pose the most concern and the product quality has improved with innovation and time. Moreover, such requirements would stifle innovation. Instead, if I were the FDA, I would simply establish a set of safety standards that all products must meet. These standards would address issues such as battery safety, quality of ingredients used, type of ingredients used, temperature regulation, quality and safety of metal parts, and child-safety of packaging.

Unfortunately, it's just not that simple.

Finally, there’s the taste aspect of these premium E-Juices. So they are more expensive and have flashier packaging as well as bottles, but the ultimate aspect of the premium E-Juice should be taste. So does the premium E-Juice taste better than the cheaper E-Juice Yes and no. Taste is subjective, but the premium E-Juices attempt to target a wider audience of vapers out there so that everyone would like it. For the most part, the premium E-Juices do taste a lot better than the cheaper ones. Besides using more premium flavoring, a lot of the premiums E-Juices are pre made. That is they limit the nicotine levels to 4 to five choices and won’t give a choice of what PG/VG ratio can be chosen. By limiting these options, these E-Juices are good right out of the bottle because vendors pre-steep or cure them prior to shipping them out. Like a fine wine, E-Juices are actually better the older it gets (talking weeks, not years though) considering as the E-Juice ages the flavoring and the base become homogenous.

Were I still on the ANR Executive Board, I would be very concerned about a potential lawsuit. Fortunately, I am no longer on that Board. And it was in anticipation of a problem like this that I resigned. I took my leave from ANR when I learned that the organization cared more about attacking its opponents than about telling the truth. I left when I realized that ANR was not interested in the truth, but was obsessed with smearing its perceived enemies and was willing to use defamatory attacks to achieve this end.

You see, there is no question that huge reductions in cigarette consumption improve respiratory symptoms. My patients who were able to cut down substantially on their smoking experienced immediate improvements in their ability to exercise and were able to enjoy life more because they could do more things without getting short of breath. Research confirms that respiratory symptoms improve when smokers are able to cut down the amount they smoke by at least 50%.
