During the last ten years, he has received at least approximately $10,000 per year for such consulting. He has also received grant support for research and writing from GSK and/or Pfizer on at least five occasions. In 2010, he co-authored a study, funded by Pfizer, on the use of its drug, Chantix, for smoking cessation."

Were I still on the ANR Executive Board, I would be very concerned about a potential lawsuit. Fortunately, I am no longer on that Board. And it was in anticipation of a problem like this that I resigned. I took my leave from ANR when I learned that the organization cared more about attacking its opponents than about telling the truth. I left when I realized that ANR was not interested in the truth, but was obsessed with smearing its perceived enemies and was willing to use defamatory attacks to achieve this end.

It's not clear to me whether the TCLC has simply not considered the impact of its recommendations or whether the Consortium actually wants to see a de facto e-cigarette ban. Either way, if the FDA adopts these recommendations, it would be a total disaster for the public's health and a great victory for the cigarette market.
