With the release of its deeming regulations, the FDA is poised to give a huge gift to combustible tobacco and to the diseases and death caused by cigarettes. If promulgated as is, the regulations will be devastating to the public's health by protecting the combustible cigarette market at the expense of the introduction and promotion of much safer alternative products that would otherwise have the potential to substantially reduce lung disease, heart disease, stroke, and cancer.

If the policy were based on health principles, it would encourage smokers to quit, and therefore, it would reward smokers who are trying to quit using nicotine patches, nicotine gum, or electronic cigarettes, rather than exclude these individuals from employment.

You can see the quality of the scientific reasoning we are dealing with.

So when Cigavette claims they have “the most advanced nicotine vapor system available, using a state of the art microprocessor and patented smart chip technology”, let’s just say I’m always a little skeptical…
