Our members come from a diverse range of professional backgrounds (including clinical, academic, policy) and are employed in a variety of settings, usually working at a strategic or specialist level. The Faculty of Public Health is a strategic organisation and, as such, works collaboratively, drawing on the specialist skills, knowledge and experience of our members as well as building relationships with a wide range of external organisations."

The biggest gap between an e-cigarette and a normal cigarette is the fact that a normal cigarette has a distinct burnt tobacco taste and “hit” that smokers associate with the satisfaction of smoking. It is hot, burns the throat, fills the lungs, and feels good upon exhale.

I understand the venom that these policy makers have for electronic cigarettes because they look like cigarettes; however, their desire to protect tobacco cigarettes from competition from these safer products is not enough to justify urging their state Attorneys General to trample on the Constitution and to violate well-established state contract law.

"So why doesn’t the CDC include e-cigarettes among its cessation and quitting tips? “The real reason is that they don’t condone anything that looks like smoking, even if it delivers none of the smoke and even if it delivers no nicotine,” Siegel said. “It is the ideology of the smoking action that they oppose.”"
