Unfortunately, there have been numerous violations of this disclosure standard, as several commentators on electronic cigarette policy have failed to disclose their Big Pharma ties in published articles. What is most disturbing to me about this story is that there is clearly no room for a difference in opinion in the tobacco control movement about certain dogmatic elements of the field. You can't express disagreement without facing personal attack, no matter how well you support your argument with scientific evidence. Like a religion, you can't challenge the gospel-like nature of movement's mantra without being viewed as a heretic.

The biggest gap between an e-cigarette and a normal cigarette is the fact that a normal cigarette has a distinct burnt tobacco taste and “hit” that smokers associate with the satisfaction of smoking. It is hot, burns the throat, fills the lungs, and feels good upon exhale.
