Actually, these "guys" are in the quitting business, not the addiction business. The overwhelming majority of electronic cigarette users are people who are already addicted to cigarette smoking. And the reason they are using these products is because they want to overcome their addiction to smoking. They want a safer product that can help them get off cigarettes, or at least to greatly reduce their cigarette consumption in order to protect their health. Very few never smokers are regular electronic cigarette users, and there is at present no evidence that the use of electronic cigarettes leads to nicotine or smoking addiction in anyone who was not already a tobacco user.

However, this deterrent effect - if present - depends upon the availability of flavored electronic cigaretttes. If only tobacco and menthol e-cigarettes were to be allowed on the market, this deterrent effect could no longer take place.

Last week I wrote about my blunders and tribulations of making my own E-Juice. It had its ups and downs but after many revisions I had something that I could vape without instantly regretting it. I wanted to see how the professional E-Juice makers were doing it on a large scale instead. I called up a few of my favorite vendors in the tri-state area to see if there were willing to have a one on one and talk about their experience and walk me through their process. Regrettably not many vendors wanted to reveal their E-Juice secrets to me, but fortunately I did have two vendors (who wanted to remain anonymous) willing to share their secrets and their E-Juice making process with everyone who wants to know about it.

The answer is that in the anti-smoking movement, you don't need to be honest and truthful. As long as your intentions are good, you can get away with lying and with making false and defamatory accusations. The ends are all that matter, and if you use defamatory means to reach those ends, it's perfectly acceptable.
