You see, no matter what term a tobacco company uses to rename its product, it is going to be known that the name is the new name for whatever the product's old name was. No matter how bland and non-descriptive the new name is, it is still going to infer the same attributes as the old name.

Instead, these were all population-based studies of smoking and e-cigarette use that did not even ask smokers using e-cigarettes if they were using them regularly or if they were using them in an effort to quit smoking. Actually, one of the studies did ask smokers if they were using e-cigarettes to quit smoking and the overwhelming majority said that they were not. In other words, many of the smokers in this study were probably just experimenting with, or trying an e-cigarette, and were not regular users of these products.

In fact, Blu was already offering these candy-flavored varieties prior to its acquisition by Lorillard. It is understandable while Lorillard maintained these flavors, since it wouldn't want to lose existing Blu customers. But it is telling that Lorillard chose not to extend this candy-flavored approach over to its disposable e-cigarette segment.
